At our Board Meeting held on 7th

Instant, the Company's reply to Government respecting the
decision made by the Directors not to entertain the purchase of
land at Ma Tau Kok Kowloon, was discussed and the Directors
approved the enclosed draft letter thereon to the Public Works
Department. If you also are in agreement with the form of
the reply, the Board will be obliged if you cause the letter to
be written for signature by your gooiself as Chairman of the
Local Committee, as this will avoid delay consequent upon
sending the draft back to me. The Colonial Secretary in
London has written this Company on the matter, so a copy of
the Company's letter to the Hong Kong Government will be
forwarded to him, when we learn from you of its despatch.
